OTB Eveling has advised long-standing client Van Ameyde International on its acquisition of McAusland & Turner, a marine consultancy services provider headquartered in Hull.
McAusland Turner has provided advice and support to the marine industry since 1888. It has offices in Hull, Grimsby, Newcastle, Bristol, Burgess Hill and Ipswich, and representative offices in Rochester, Southampton, Liverpool and Kinross.
OTB Eveling (James Eveling, Emma Thomas) were lead advisers on the acquisition, with corporate and tax support from PKF Francis Clark in Exeter. James Eveling commented: “We are delighted to have supported Van Ameyde through another corporate acquisition, one of a number we have supported them on over the last few years. The acquisition is a great fit for Van Ameyde’s expansion in the UK Market and it is great to see confidence at this time in the UK market from such a prominent and expanding European insurance business.”
Bob de Bruijn, board member of Van Ameyde, added: “The acquisition is part of Van Ameyde’s strategy to expand its Loss-Adjusting & Surveying network. The UK being the largest marine insurance market, expansion of our marine surveying network to the UK is vital. In McAusland Turner, we have found the perfect match in terms of quality and identity.”
